This is a full colour print from an original work by by AF Lydon (1909) for the poultry publication, featuring Scots Dumpies and Scots Greys ,The Feathered World. It is signed.

Alexander Francis Lydon 1836/1837 – 1917 was an Irish-born British watercolour artist, illustrator and engraver of natural history and landscapes.

The Scots Dumpy is a traditional Scottish breed and has  been bred in Scotland for more than two centuries. It has very short legs, so short that the body is a few centimetres from the ground.

However, the Scots Grey is a tall, upright chicken. Apart from the height, it is similar to the Scots Dumpy.

It is also marked with the publisher's name, and a short description of the breed titles won by the poultry.

The full colour landsape orientation image is mounted under glass in an attractive faux tortoiseshell style frame.. It features four examples of the poultry.

This is an attractive piece of wall art, ideal for the kitchen, and also an item of interest for poultry enthusiasts.
